JIm FinishedJames Collopy, the designated broker and co-owner of our company, has an extensive 30-year background in residential, retail and commercial management.  Starting his property management career after college in Vermont as the assistant manager of a 300-unit apartment community in Houston Texas, he acquired a broad depth of management, marketing, sales, investments and construction experience supervising portfolios of multifamily, commercial and single family homes.  Clients have ranged from individual home owners with a single home in need of management, to large financial institutions with thousands of homes.  Jim has also managed multi-state portfolios of homes for government entities such as HUD and FDIC.

In addition to holding a real estate license in Arizona , Jim also  holds an Arizona Residential Contractor’s  license.  All major repairs to rental homes or homes to be placed on the market for sale, must be performed by a licensed and bonded contractor per Arizona state law and Jim holds a residential remodeling license. Additionally, Jim is certified by the EPA as a Lead Paint Renovator enabling him to legally coordinate renovations on Pre-1978 housing.  Jim also has earned the prestigious Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation through the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA).

Fort Lowell Realty and Property Management  Inc.  specializes in the management and rental of single family and small rental communities throughout the greater Tucson and Phoenix areas.  FLR has held an excellent reputation  among  property owners, renters and the real estate brokerage community since 1985, but we are not standing still, we continue to improve by taking advantage of the latest  technologies.

We have improved tenant and owner communication by offering Internet access to their respective accounts, improved risk management with ongoing legal review of your lease and management agreements and forms, maintain low vacancy rates by taking advantage of latest Internet marketing  strategies, and reduced tenant turnover by focusing on quick response to maintenance requests.   In the past year we have achieve a paperless office where all documents,  i.e. leases, bills, invoices etc., are scanned and stored within our property management program  and available for client review via the Internet at any time.

A property manager must have a working knowledge of bookkeeping, the rental housing market,  Internet marketing, tenant law, construction and maintenance regulations;  and a course in college psychology 101 doesn’t hurt.  Does the typical real estate sales agent have the background to determine if a $2,000 repair estimate from the plumber, air conditioning company or roofer is justified?  When you hire a property manager, you are hiring a representative that may have to make decisions regarding income and expenses that may earn or cost you thousands of dollars.  Go with an experienced firm…call Jim’s Team.
